Within a secret, hidden corner of the wood
There lived a lonely man, who thought he really could
Get right away from everybody he had known
And live in peace, some sort of hermit, all alone
There was a stream, he could grow everything he’d need
Which wasn’t much, as he had just one mouth to feed

Not far away, but hidden neatly from his view
There lived a beautiful young girl, who thought she knew
She could survive, deep in the forest all alone
In self-sufficiency, away from all she’d known
It was inevitable that their paths would cross
So, each was horrified and justified their loss

Life seems a maze, and it’s amazing, if you know
Where to find meaning, if you don’t, it’s sad and slow
